Unity Fellowship

We made wonderful new friends this week as Unity Fellowship joined us for their mid-year gathering.   They came from around the country to gather in prayer and discussion and they found a new home for their group at Stony Point Center.  The length of their stay allowed for them to find ways to interact with our Community of Living Traditions.  They took advantage of all our campus has to offer; they spent one morning Cultivating Quiet with our co-director, Kitty.  Next time, we'll arrange warmer weather to take advantage of boating in Harriman State Park!  Come back soon, we were blessed with your presence.

Annual Gathering of the Luke 6 Project Community

Come join us for the Annual Gathering of the Luke 6 Project Community at Stony Point Center this Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-28, 2012!
We will enjoy each other's fellowship and support while we share our joys and struggles on the journey of being faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Using the "un-conference" and "open space" models, we propose that our agenda be formed when we arrive, hopefully incorporating some of the following: time to catch up with each other, time to share, time to think, time to study, time to hang out, embodied (hands-on) spiritual activities, creativity night, time on the water (kayaking, canoeing), communion, firepit, a picnic, and anything else we might spontaneously decide upon.
Friday night, we plan to call each other into the circle (a Luke 6 tradition), and Saturday morning, we will do a study session using the resource written by one of our Luke Sixers, Roger Powers, called Resurrection Living: Journeying with the Nonviolent Christ, a journal/devotional. (You can get a copy for $7.50 right here). Other than that, everything else will depend on who comes! Will you?

A Healing of Memories Workshop with Father Michael Lapsley

The Institute for Healing of Memories, NA,
with support from The Community of Living Traditions
announces
A Healing of Memories Workshop with Father Michael Lapsley

Friday, May 11 at 6 pm*
to Sunday, May 13, at 4 pm
Stony Point Center
*Registration at 5 pm

Each workshop provides a safe space in which to tell your story and the opportunity to take one step toward healing.

Methodology includes respectful listening; emotional & spiritual healing; reconciliation, peace building; restorative justice. Participants will have an opportunity to see themselves through the unique lens of their communities, countries and true selves.

After losing both hands and an eye to a letter bomb, Father Michael journeyed from victim to survivor to victor with the love, prayers and support from around the world.  He had been chaplain in exile for the African National Congress, working for an end to apartheid in South Africa. His involvement in the Truth and Reconciliation hearings in South Africa, and his personal tragedy, led him to develop a method for addressing trauma and victimhood in individuals, communities and nations.
