Confessions of Accra and Belhar Program at SPC

Forty-five people in the Reformed tradition came together at Stony Point Center on January 15-17th to discuss the Belhar (1986) and Accra (2004) Confessions. Representing different denominations from Canada, the Caribbean, and the U.S., the participants heard a number of presentations and used Open Space meeting processes to explore the implications of these statements about racism and economic justice for the life of the church. The hope of the meeting is that the new World Communion of Reformed Churches, which will be constituted in Grand Rapids, MI, in June, uniting the World Alliance of Reformed Church and the Reformed Ecumenical Council, will use these significant confessions as guidelines for setting its agenda.
